Confident Chinese victory in 10m platform synchro mixed final.
The press conference after the final was not complete as bronze medallist team North Korea did not show up. Ren Qian and Lian Junjie practically swept the field, ranked first all throughout the competition they clinched the first medal in Duna Arena and in diving at the World Champs. 16 year-old competitors did not show any emotions, when asked about the reason the female member of the duo responded to the journalist's question and told she would take part in two more competitions, so she was rather tired and in her mind she was focused on upcoming challenges. The young world champions are not sure if they continue their promising career together, however, at present this is not an issue, time will tell.
Silver medallist duo, Luis Toulson and Matthew Lee, were much happier to participate in the press conference. They are quite positive about the future and aim at breaking the Chinese hegemony sooner or later. "We are very happy, because we made it to the podium of the World Championship" – they told media representatives.
North Korean competitors didn't want to comment on the tournament, so they didn't attend the official press conference.
Anthems will be played to honour winners two more times in Duna Arena today, following women’s 1m springboard and men’s 3m synchro.
