For 7th place:

Australia-Greece 6-8 (0-1, 1-4, 3-3, 2-0)

Athansios Kechagias, head coach (AUS):

„Playing this game for the 7th place wasn’t easy. But it was a good game for both teams, we gained expereience. We will move on and analyse what we can do and what we cannot do to be better and to be ready for our future matches.”

Georgios Morfesis, head coach (GRE):

"This World Championships edition in Budapest was wonderful. I have been in many World Championships as a coach and this was one of the best ones I have ever seen. I want to congratulate the organisers of this event because they did a great job. We are not so satisfied with the team's position and I really think the team could have claimed a better place, but sometimes the mistakes of the referee can make the difference between victory and defeat."

For 5th place:

Italy-Hungary 8-10 (2-3, 2-3, 2-2, 2-2)

Fabio Conti, head coach (ITA):

“It wasn’t easy to play against Hungary without our centre forward, Valeria Palmieri and having played six previous matches. I am very happy with my team, despite of the final result, they proved to be at the same level as other teams. Of course we expected a better final result for us, probably a medal, but now we have time to try other players and work together for the European Championships next year. “

Queirolo Elisa Player (ITA):

„ I wanted to win with my team, we came here to win a medal in the final but unfortunately our loss in the quarter final influenced our ranking. We need to learn from our mistakes to became more experienced. We’ll have to work hard to play better in the future. It won’t be easy but we are a very good team and we are about to reach up to the top at the next competition.”

Attila Bíró, head coach (HUN):

„We suceeded in making the end more beautiful for the team but we still have the memories of the Canadaian match. These games showed us the potential and the eloquence of the team. It was difficult to go through it all, both for the girls and for the staff. I was a bit broken in the past few days. It was difficult to accept what happened but I’m proud of the girls, they stood up and won the last two matches. We chose tougher tactics for today, that’s why we got the exclusions. Finishing 5th is a disappointment. With this game we could beat everybody except for the United States. It seems the team’s not ready to perform in an outstanding way for six-seven games fin a row. But it’s important to emphasise: except for the US, nobody’s capable to do so.

Dóra Czigány (HUN):

„It was a good match, we started well, we dominated throughout the game. The previous match was more difficult. After the defeat we had to play right after, now we were more prepared. We know this was our last match. We had to enjoy it. Of course we have to move on and take a rest. Hungarian Championship’s coming up.”

Dóra Antal (HUN):

„Till the end, we controlled this match. We could execute what we planned, we fought well against the M-zone. We could overperform the Italians and it was really important today. We have to learn from our mistakes, we were deconcentrated against Canada, so we lost that match and we finished 5th. It’s positive that we could stand up and show our supporters that with their help we are able to beat anybody.”

Bronze game:

Russia-Canada 11-9 (3-3, 4-2, 2-2, 2-2)

Jessica Gaudreault (CAN):

„I think we kept fighting but obviously it really hurts to lose that closely.  We wanted to finish on an odd number and we are really disappointed that we didn’t win that medal.”

Haris Pavlidis, head coach (CAN):

„We tried. The start was really bad, but in the last two quarters we played with bigger difference. We missed so many opportunities and at the end we payed for it. The Championship was well-organised. The fans are amazing. They even come for qualification matches. It’s unforgettable for me!”

Alexander Gaidukov, szövetségi kapitány (RUS):

„It was a difficult match, we had to prepare for it. I’m happy about our victory, especially at this level. Russia won and we got the bronze medal. We only lost two games out of seven which is quite a good result.”

Maria Borisova (RUS):

„It was a very good match. Canada was a challenging opponent. We’re truly happy about our bronze medal.”

United States-Spain 13-6 (2-1, 3-2, 5-2, 3-1)

Adam Krikorian, head coach (USA)

„There were a lot of hugs, after the game, I’m really proud of the girls, both the leaders who achieved a lot in the past and also the young ones stepping into the big roles, people like Gaby Stone. She’s the best goal keeper in the world. People were questioning whether she had the thoughness to perform, and I so happy for her that she proved me right.

It probably seemed easier than it was, Miki does an incredible job, this Spanish team is very tough. We knew that they were fight, they are great competitors, we have a lot of respect for them which helps us prepeare for the game. We didn’t win this game here tonight but we win it with our preparation, we win it with our training, with the connection and passion that we have for each other. You know, you don’t win World Championship gold medal during those 32 minutes. That’s the cool stuff that you guys don’t see, that we see.”

Madeline Musselman (USA)

„I’m very proud to this team, and that we have accomplished this year with our new members. We respect Spain a lot. We have played against them like forever. They always bring a lot of fight, a lot of heart, so we have to perform our best game. We have to have great defense but always have to keep going, push through every quarter till the end of the game.”

Miguel Oca Gaia, head coach (ESP):

„We did a good match on the first half but USA create a huge gap between us on the second half. We are really satisfied because it is dificult to arrive to the finals in a world championship. The girls worked hard so i want to congratulate them. As a coach I hope they will have a bright future because despite her young age they demostrate tonight they can do it.”

Laura Ester Ramos (ESP)

„We didn’t play our best, we could’ve done better. The USA team showed his superiority on the third quarter. We’ve done a really good tournament despite of the youth of the team. We increased the level match after match. Right now we are a bit disappointed but i’m sure that tomorrow we are going to be greatful for the silver medal.”

Paula Leiton Arrones (ESP)

„Despite we didn’t achived the gold medal we’ve got very good sensations for the years to come. We’ve played as one, we enjoyed this opportunity and the best thing that i get from this incredible tournament is the human group we’ve made outside the pool.”
