He participated in four olympic games, won six medals and from now on you can see his name not just on certificates, medals and on chalices. Thanks to a co-operation between his old high school, Mihály Vörösmarty Gimnázium and a painting factory, called the Poli-Farbe Kft, the gym of the school has been repainted. Due to this action, they named the hall after László Cseh because it can be a good example for the students. One of the editor from the BP2017 Media could make an interview with the “legend”.
The swimming star mentioned before the interview started, that he will always remember to this honorable moment. When the organizers asked him, he did not think for a blink, he said yes.
What happened since Rio?
“There was a shutdown for two months. We just started the practices again with a few new elements, such as running and cycling. Those are totally different kind of moves that I usually don’t practice because of lack of time. It refreshes me and the whole practice will be more fun. It also helps my soul and my body.”
How did you like the USA?
“In the States, we could rest and experienced a lot. First of all, we went overseas due to a conference where I have spoken about myself, and the sport in general, second of all, about a product which has helped my preparation. As we were already at the other side of the ocean, we spent few more days there and travelled a bit. This was also a part of the regeneration after Rio. Now, I can say, I am fully recovered after the Olympic Games, but not just physically, but mentally as well. To be honest, I kind of missed to be in the pool, so it is good to be back.
So, practice over and over?
“Until the end of this year, I will spend my time with this. This is fundamentally in order to have the best practices in the beginning of the next year when we focus on the world championships. In 2017, before Budapest, I would like to compete in some international races, world cups and in the Hungarian championship. If I still feel after Budapest power enough, I would like to participate in the next year’s European Short Course Championship. Right now, I feel I am capable of being the best, but the timing is very important. Sadly, in Rio I could not succeed in this part of the competition as good as I planned. We have plenty of time to be prepared and for next July I would like to be in a perfect shape, both mentally and physically.”
Medley or butterfly?
“Butterfly is closer to me, but we decided with my coach, Zsolt Plagányi that, I will practice more the other types as well in the next period. It can also - just again – refresh me. In medley, we planned the 200 metres but in practice, 400 metres could also help.”
The World Championships in Budapest?
“I did not really talk with my “colleagues” about Budapest, but I know they excited about the tournament and the organising. We rather talked about, that I will personally show them, what “the Hungarian hospitality” means. I cannot wait until this event starts! To swim in front of the amazing Hungarian crowd, it is like a home field advantage. I usually make this joke to my wife, that I need to travel a lot because of the championship and if I left something home, it is irreplaceable. It will feel really good, to be only kilometres away from the races. I have not been to the Dagaly yet, but I would like to see it inaugurated.
We are not teenagers anymore. To expand the family is planned, but I believe in the power of the nature. Of course, sport is still in the first place, but now I can see that both of these can be a part of my life, next to each other.” – finished the almost 31 years old swimmer.
