The Draw of the 17th FINA World Championships’ Water Polo Tournament (Men and Women) will be held on February 24 in Budapest, just 140 days before the beginning of the greatest FINA Event. The Draw ceremony will be broadcasted live through the Hungarian National TV’s M4 Sport channel, and the official digital media platform of FINA and the Budapest 2017 Organising Committee.

Following the conclusion of the American continent’s qualification in mid-February, the field of the 17th FINA World Championships’ water polo tournament is now complete. Sixteen men’s and sixteen women’s teams will fight for glory in Budapest, Serbia (men) and the United States (women) will arrive to the Hungarian capital in July as defending champions and will play in the amazing Hajós Alfréd Complex.

Follow the Draw LIVE on February 24, 12:00 (CET):

Hosted by the Budapest 2017 OC, the Draw will be conducted by FINA Bureau Member and Water Polo Bureau Liaison Mr Dimitris Diathesopoulos and Mr Gianni Lonzi, Chairman of the FINA Technical Water Polo Committee.

Besides them, previous Hungarian World champions will play an active role in the ceremony as well: István Szívós (Belgrade, 1973), Norbert Madaras (the only two-time World champion in the history of Hungarian men’s water polo - 2003 and 2013, Barcelona), Orsolya Szalkay (Rome, 1994) and Rita Drávucz (2005, Montreal).
