Team operations manager of the Australian Swimming Federation Gary Vandeburgt has arrived to Budapest to get to know the venues of the 2017 FINA World Championships. He met representatives of Bp2017 Ltd and then visited the new Dagaly Complex where the diving and swimming events will be held next summer. On Thursday he goes to Balatonfüred, the scene of the open water swimming events. He is going to look-see the hotels, the training venues and tries to get a line on the transport options.

„Of course there will be some changes after the Rio Olympics, but it is too early to speak about that. i can promise that we will be here with our best potential team. Some swimmers like Alicia Coutts have retired after the Games. We have been performing well in Rio, we have plenty of young talented athletes, so we are optimistic relating the 2017 World Champs and the 2018 Commonwealth Games, which will be hosted by the Gold Coast” – Gary Vandeburgt said.
