The training of the volunteers of the 2017 FINA World Championships starts at the beginning of next year. The registration for the programme started in June, and nearly 4000 people has applied so far.

The general training starts in February. The candidates will be informed about the events, the different sports of the World Champs, the venues, the cultural differences and the international protocol. The special trainings start in April under the direction of the experts responsible for the different areas. They will help the volunteers to get acquainted with the concrete tasks.

The organisers expect the work of 2500 volunteers for the FINA WCH and 1000 for the FINA Masters WCH. 70 percent of the 4000 applicants are women. Almost all generations are represented, and about 800 people have registered from abroad.
